How To Address Workforce Shortages

This upstart newsletter (from CalMatters – about what’s going on legislatively in the State of California) provides a good overview for addressing worker shortages, including considering your recruiting efforts (looking outside your typical spheres), proactively managing diversity, and using professional development to create the workers you want (think apprenticeships and mentoring, as well as traditional opportunities).

Are you able to find the people you want?  Are you making it easy for them to apply?  How clear are you about the work that you want done?  Is your training program adequate?  Does all of your leadership team embrace what you are trying to do?
