People Are NOT Commodities
Some people don’t value the lives of others. They see fellow humans as resources to be consumed (and then replaced), for their convenience.
People are not commodities to be used up.
While the attached article isn’t about business, it strikes a very sharp chord with me. Our employees are not resources to be overused and then replaced. They are human beings with hopes, dreams, and fears—and with other people who rely on them. They deserve our dignity and respect.
Are you inadvertently overworking your people? Are they getting burned out?
How do you show them you value them and their work? How do you show you care about them as people – not just because they’re good for your business?
What policies do you have in place to protect each person’s dignity – with company leaders and with peers?
