How the Short-term Harms
“This [higher education] crisis did not happen because of some grand, nefarious plot. It has to do with the reactive character of university leadership who got caught up in short-term thinking rather than intentional, long-term strategic planning.”
There is a lesson here for us all. When we look at short-term outcomes only, we sometimes lose the larger picture of our actual dreams and goals. We can’t see the forest for the trees.
Are your actions, policies, and procedures taking you closer to where you want to be in the long-term? Are they helping you to fulfill your dreams and your vision? Or are they simply a means to temporary financial success to appease a small group of investors?
